SUMMARY:Noah's Ark Pet Blessing
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Pet Blessing will be on Sunday\, October 5 at 1:30 pm at the Courtyard (or Hilkert Hall Gym during inclement weather).\nA blessing of pets is held around the Feast Day of Saint Francis of Assisi\, where anyone can bring their animal companions to church (dogs\, cats\, birds\, any animal creature) to receive a blessing and celebrate the special bond between humans and animals. Please make sure that your pet is leashed or caged for your pet and other’s protection. \nWe will also have several vendors with information and services available for your pet\, and pets for adoption during this event. Our Noah’s Ark Ministry will have animal cages at the entrance of the Church for donation of pet food or gently used blankets and towels to the local animal shelter. \nSaint Francis is remembered for his generosity to the poor\, his willingness to minister to the lepers\, and for his love for animals and nature. He is the Catholic Church’s patron saint of animals and the environment. In honor of Saint Francis of Assisi\, the blessing of animals shows that all of God’s creatures are cherished and beloved. The Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi also provides an opportunity to teach children about endangered or abused animals and what we can do to help.

SUMMARY:Our Lady of the Rosary
DESCRIPTION:The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated since the Rosary brings us closer to our Blessed Mother and she brings us closer to her Son\, Jesus Christ!\nOur Lady came to the aid of Christian soldiers in the Battle of Lepanto\, and\, later\, Pope Pius V instituted a feast in thanksgiving to Our Lady of Victory. Eventually\, Pope Gregory XIII changed the name of the Feast to Our Lady of the Rosary to emphasize the power of Mary’s intercession in times of trouble. \nDuring October\, which is “month of the Rosary\,” our Legion of Mary will have a table at the entrances of the Church with free Rosaries and information on how to pray the Rosary. They invite everyone to join them on Thursdays at 6:00 pm to the Chapel for their 20-minute Rosary Challenge throughout October.\nCelebrate with us by joining us at our Mass or Prayer Service. Click/tap here for the schedule.
