DESCRIPTION:Fill the Crib\nOctober 1 – 20 | Entrances of the Church & Narthex \nThe Gabriel Project will be holding our annual Fill the Crib throughout the first three weeks of October. \nWe will be collecting for the following resource centers: \n• Gabriel Project- Saint Ambrose\n• Oaks Family Care Center\n• One Hope NEO \nWe will be collecting diapers and wipes/pull ups of all sizes (especially larger diapers Size 4-6 and Pull-ups 2-3T and 4-5T) \, sleeper onesies\, bottles\, formula; and gift cards/monetary gifts. \nEnvelopes will be available in the cribs. DESCRIPTION:Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) starts on September 6 and 7!\nWe all know young children can have trouble sitting still during Mass.   \nAt CLOW\, held during our 4:30 pm Saturday Mass and on Sunday at our 9:00 am and 10:30 am Masses\, they can listen and ask questions while we discuss the readings and Gospel. It’s amazing to see them engage! \nThe priest will invite them to come forward after the Opening Prayer\, receive a blessing and head to the chapel with our catechist. \nThey’ll return right after the homily…giving you a chance to really listen\, too.  Children receive a take-home activity sheet which enhances the weekly lesson from the gospel. \nNo need to sign up! Just tell your children and grandchildren about CLOW and encourage them to join.  \nWould you like to learn more about becoming a CLOW catechist or aide? We’d love the help! SUMMARY:Noah's Ark Pet Blessing
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Pet Blessing will be on Sunday\, October 5 at 1:30 pm at the Courtyard (or Hilkert Hall Gym during inclement weather).\nA blessing of pets is held around the Feast Day of Saint Francis of Assisi\, where anyone can bring their animal companions to church (dogs\, cats\, birds\, any animal creature) to receive a blessing and celebrate the special bond between humans and animals. Please make sure that your pet is leashed or caged for your pet and other’s protection. \nWe will also have several vendors with information and services available for your pet\, and pets for adoption during this event. Our Noah’s Ark Ministry will have animal cages at the entrance of the Church for donation of pet food or gently used blankets and towels to the local animal shelter. \nSaint Francis is remembered for his generosity to the poor\, his willingness to minister to the lepers\, and for his love for animals and nature. He is the Catholic Church’s patron saint of animals and the environment. In honor of Saint Francis of Assisi\, the blessing of animals shows that all of God’s creatures are cherished and beloved. The Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi also provides an opportunity to teach children about endangered or abused animals and what we can do to help.
